A dedicated hardware firewall blocks spam and virus before it enters
your network guaranteeing reduced mail servers loads.
Filtering employs a comprehensive set of methods to ensure extremely low false
positive rates (0.002%) while making it amongst the finest solution available.
Automatic spam and virus definitions update on an hourly basis, ensures even the
latest worms are blocked before they become a threat. Viruses and spam emails
are identified using checksum and heuristic methods.
- Denial of service (DOS) prevention: Denial of service attacks attempt to
deny legitimate email from getting through by flooding/bombing the network
with bogus packets and emails. Our system detects this and applies rate
controls by temporarily blocking the IP address of such attacks.
- Black hole prevention: It is critical that mail sent to you does not
simply fall into a "black hole" if it is filtered accidentally. False
positives levels are around 1/50000 (0.002%). However in the very rare case
where a false positive occurs, the sender is notified and can take
appropriate action.
- Blacklist/whitelisting: Whole domains or individual email addresses can
be white or blacklisted.
- RBL (Realtime Block List): RBLs are lists of IP addresses of alleged
spammers. A conservative set of RBLs ensures no legitimate mail is blocked.
- Intention Analysis: Checks for URLs (domain names) in the message that
are linked to known spammers against an hourly updated database.
- Soft tags: Suspect emails that cannot be guaranteed as being 100% spam,
are "tagged" with low priority. In MS Outlook it will appear as a blue down
arrow icon. The user may then decide on appropriate action.
- Bayesian analysis: A heavily tuned Spam Assassin engine identifies HAM
(good email) and SPAM alike by using keyword analysis. Most spam emails use
characteristic words and phrases in order to sell the message.
